Coconuts

We took the boys to the downtown fountains but the water was gushing out in big and quick streams so the boys were kind of afraid of them. They had a much better time just running around and getting all their energy and ours out!

The last few days my mom, sister and I have been gorging ourselves on coconut water and coconut meat (we eat it with mex hot sauce and lime juice). The boys aren't crazy about the meat but they have been loving coconut water. I can't think of a better beverage other than water (or milk for babies), its natures gatorade!

Babies are in bed now and we are crafting on the sewing machine, need to learn as much as possible before I go home : )

Mall Time Fun

I made the uniformed decision to walk to the mall today only to realize its a good 3 miles each way! Then at the mall, of course, more walking. We must have walked 7+ miles today (not so easy while pushing strollers)! Oh well at least its good exercise : )

Here are some pics of our mall time fun...

Happy Hollow

Today we went to Happy Hollow Park and Zoo, a childhood favorite of mine, only of course it looks way different now. The boys got to ride on their first carousel, they weren't real thrilled. But they did think feeding the goats was a riot!

I have no idea where he got it but Thomas seems to have gotten poison oak on his knee. We noticed a small spot on friday and it has since spread a lot (see pic). I guess he is his fathers son, if Phil even thinks about poison oak he gets it!

Everyone agrees that the boys are looking more like Phil than me!

Caleb has been real clingy this whole trip and i can't hardly go to the bathroom by myself. He has been mama's boy for quite some time now so I guess its not real suprising.

I think my battle with getting the boys to their normal sleep routine is futile. As long as they are happy we'll just go with the flow.

Later today my cuz Diana came down from SF and met the boys for the first time : ) pic down below.

The boys ate soooo much food for dinner tonight that I was afraid to touch their tummys that they might explode! My mom makes some yummy food!

Lazy Sunday

We had lazy Sunday trying to get back to our sleep sched (for babies at least), Thomas slept in till 9am! But everyone napped at the usual time and they went to bed at 8pm, so not bad I think : )

Here are some pics of the day spent in the neighborhood...one is with the boys and their papa Gus and the others of them just horsing around.

Made it!

The first day went pretty well, we got to our motel right before it got real dark (I hate driving at night, makes me nervous). We thought we could get away with not bringing in the pack n plays but after half an hour of all three boys jumping on the bed, kicking the walls and pretty much partying in the dark, we caved and brought in two of them. It was about 11:30pm and within 10 min everyone was asleep! Wake up time came bright and early at 7am. We walked over to the Black Bear Diner, the boys still in their pj's, and had breakfast. We survived by the skin of our teeth, nothing broken and no skin crawling screams out of anyone. After hitting the road again we made one last stop for lunch at subway and then took the boys to play in a nice air conditioned BK playground. Made it to San Jose (45min S of SF) by 6pm in one piece but the boys were starting to lose it the last hour! After a ton of excitement and exploring an un-baby-proofed house they were tucked away in cribs by 9pm. Glad we can get back into our normal nap and bed times tomorrow!

Here are some pics of our stops along the way...The one of the river in Roseburg (umpqua? I think) should make you want to say 'I want to go to there!'

California or Bust!

I was looking at the Portland forecast a few weeks ago and saw that one day was going to be 79 degrees, I thought 'ooh it's gonna be hot on wednesday.' My second thought was 'oh man I've lived in Portland too long if I think 79 deg is hot!'

California be kind to us, I don't think this family can function in over 95 degree weather!

Well my mom and sister are here to help me with the drive down (they demanded more triplet time so they came to get us!). Our first stop is in Roseburg, OR to eat lunner and to let the boys get some energy out. Then some more driving and we'll spend the night in Yreka, CA. It should work out to 5 hours of driving today and another 5 tomorrow. Phil will fly down to meet us next week!

Got the iPhone loaded with Shakira, we're ready to hit the road!

I'll try to post frequently, so much doable while on vacation : )

Oh Crap! #33

Had to share this super cute video of Thomas making his brothers laugh during bath time, who needs mom to entertain when you have such funny brothers : )

Oh Crap! moment #33
