6 Years 7 Months!

CET are 6 years and 7 months old and ready for some fun in the sun!

We are so happy to get a break from record breaking rainy days! I looked forward to today and beyond as if it was a vacation, haha! The forecast for next week is mostly sunny with warmer temps. Shorts weather for Oregon natives like my boys, ha! I'll stick to my light jacket and sweaters for now : )

Hair-sonalities

I gave the boys different hair cuts just to "try it out." Unknowingly their hair cuts fit their personalities...let me explain : )

Caleb's round head actually allows for long hair...his long beautiful locks says he's laid back and carefree and certainly pretty silly too!

Eli's double cowlicks makes his hair stick straight up so he can only wear short short hair.... his sharp military style cut says he's a rule follower and self disciplined.

Thomas has a medium cut with some definition to it...his hair says he's very fashionable and he likes to stand out as different.

Six And A Half!

The boys are super excited that they can now say they are six and a half! The years go by in no time at all, ugh...they'll be 7 next time I blink. Seven seems so foreign, so big, eek! I also can't believe I've been blogging for over 7 years now! I've seen so many blogs come and go and very few that have gone as long as mine. Hoping to keep going as long as I can though : )

CET are 6.5!
They start soccer next week although it's not as organized as basketball was with practice and games. It's more just practice once a week to get some energy out : )

Dillon's Beach

Just over a month ago we did a quick 3 day trip to California to see family. It was a bit of a rushed trip since we had to drive so far away but it was definitely worth being able to see everyone under the same roof!...I dropped the ball and didn't take many pictures but thankfully cousin K took plenty and shared them with me : )

As cool as ice and dreaming of summer...

BasketBall!

I may have bitten off more than I can chew this month cause I'm so behind on blogging! I signed the boys up for basketball and they have a practice and game once a week (so twice a week we are out doing basketball). It's a bit hectic but the boys LOVE it! I always wanted them to do sports but they were never interested in it (I don't think I'll be the type of parent that pushes extracurriculars unless the kid really wants to do it, ha!). All that changed a few months ago when they picked up a fervent love of basketball (well Eli and Thomas that is, Caleb likes it a lot). Thomas and Eli are really good at it too, both boys have made shots during games (and in the right hoop too, ha!). Anyways I have a lot of catching up to do, we went to Cali a few weeks ago and I just got around to taking the pictures off my phone. The boys have just 3 more weeks of basketball and things should get back to normal then : )

6 Yrs and 4 Mo!

CET are 6 years and 4 months old!

I've been working for 3 weeks now (albeit the first two weeks were very sparse bc of the snow)! I'm back doing cancer research only with a different lab this time. I really thought 6 years off would have really hurt my chances of getting hired anytime soon. I only applied to 6 or 7 positions and interviewed with 2 and of course was hired by the last one I interviewed with (yay!). I was pretty selective about the positions I applied to. My biggest priority was that it had to be part time (no more than 32hrs/week). I do not know how you would find a good work/life balance with two full time parents, it would be so challenging! Positions of this type are hard to come by since most want full time employees. Thankfully I found the perfect position, I can pretty much work as much or as little as I want so long as I average a certain amount per year which should be pretty easy given my schedule with the kids. Plus its very exciting and interesting work and I've been really enjoying challenging my mind again! Phil drops the boys off at school in the morning so he starts work an hour later than before and I pick them up after school lets out, so it works out perfect. I guess it's on to our next chapter of life, should be interesting!

As you can imagine I will be much busier than I have been so expect regular but less frequent blog updates, I hope you understand!
