5 Years 10 Months!

CET are 5 years and 10 months old!
I can't get over how mature their faces look, such big kids!
Just thought it was cute how Caleb is decked out with all his bells and whistles (watch and wallets). And not to mention he picked out his own clothes too!
The boys graduated from Penguins to Otters! They improved so much in this session of swim classes. They needed to be able to do a front glide for at least 5 feet and hold a back float for at least 5 seconds.
Funny story, so Phil took the boys to ride their bikes around the neighborhood the other day. Then later on I'm sitting on my bed when Eli comes walking in looking very somber. I ask him whats wrong like 3 or 4 times with out any response other than some more light whimpering (he wasn't crying). Then he slowly turns his head to reveal his injury to me and of course I react by saying "my baby!" and hugging him. Then it's full on crying by Eli. He had crashed into a retaining wall while riding his bike. After a while I go and tell Phil about how Eli revealed his injury to me and as soon as I finish Eli busts out laughing! It was pretty comical in retrospect, haha!

Changes!

I cannot believe July is almost over! This means we really only have one month left of summer before school starts. How can this be? Life is flying by and I'm a bag of mixed emotions. On the one hand I'm excited for the boys to start kindergarten, I know they will enjoy school so much. More so because they are super social and really enjoy friends. Although I know they will do so well academically too. Then on the other hand I'm so sad that our time together full time is coming to an end. I'm sure gonna miss my little buddies! It will be a big change for all of us!

Speaking of changes, we discovered Thomas has a pretty loose tooth! Caleb's same tooth is also loose but it's not as loose as Thomas' (bottom front LEFT tooth). What's funny is that just a couple months ago the dentist assured me that they wouldn't be loosing any teeth for at least 6 months to a year, ha!

Another big change is that the boys no longer take naps! Can you believe it? I got them to nap till they were well over 5 and a half years old! As of mid June when we left for California, because napping on vacation is well...inconvenient, haha! I could still easily have them nap but I figured I'd let them get used to the schedule before starting Kindergarten when they'll have no option to nap, ha! Phil and I have really been enjoying the earlier bedtime too : )

Caleb looking so sweet : )
A couple weekends ago we had a garage sale at a friends house. It was cool and cloudy so the lemonade stand didn't do quite as well as last years when it was almost 100 degrees! They still raked in a good $30 though : )
After a hard day manning their lemonade stand we went out to pizza!
Thomas pointing to his loose tooth.
Brother time : )

Cali Trip Pt B

For our B part of the trip we stayed in Davis to visited with family and we even got to go wine tasting in Napa!
Caleb with mama Sue
At V. Sattui, one of our favorite wineries!
And lucky for us the guy attending to us was his last day so our 6 wine tastings turned into 12, ha!
All the Pittsenbarger men (minus uncle Garret)!
The best way to travel!
TEC, hanging out
Of course whenever we visit Davis we are always "graced" with 100+ degree weather : (
I guess its a good thing they have an awesome community pool!
My little fishies!
We stayed at the pool for hours!
It was the only way we could cope in this heat : )
Papi and his boys : )
Short two grand kids : )

CA Trip Pt A

When I think of our California vacations I always think of them in two parts. First part is usually in the south bay visiting my side of the family and sometimes we sneak in a kid-free side trip while my mom watches the boys (which we got to do again, yay!). The second part is in Davis visiting Phil's side of the family. So here's some highlights of the first part of our trip!

By the pan dulce, we always feast on all sorts of Mexican delights when in San Jose!
Fun at the beach in Santa Cruz with their little cousin Natalie : )
Proud of their sand castle, which I mostly built.
Yeah I know its not that great, ha!
They swam in the shallow river that connects to the beach.
With my little dudes!
The boys with my sister, niece and mom.
While on our little early anniversary getaway,
Phil and I hiked the famous Point Lobos State Reserve.
It's a breath taking place!
Last Sunday (July 10th) we celebrated our 12 year anniversary.
Happy anniversary to us!
The boys getting a taste of video games with their tio Gustavo : )
We all had a good laugh at Costco haha!
BTW I paid him a quarter to get him to put this on, ha!
No San Jose trip is complete without visiting Tres Reyes taco truck!

Another Last

Even though the boys tested out of needing speech classes a while ago, through a loop hole they could still keep going until the summer before they are to start kindergarten. Since the boys have always LOVED their speech class I figured we'd keep going as long as we could. They started with their teacher Terri soon after they turned 3 years old when they still didn't say much (maybe two word combinations at the time). She got to help them through to full sentences, crazy! Last month the boys had their last speech class. She is a great teacher and I'm sad to see our time with her is over. But we must move on I guess. No more speech services for these guys, we're out!
Last day of speech class!
The teaching student brought in a special guest for the last day : )
Caleb was the only one brave enough to hold the snake. He was very close to tossing it over when it started slithering up his shirt sleeve, ha!
