Gone Fishin'

The boys went on their very first official fishing trip outfitted with their very own fishing poles and worms that they helped dad dig up that morning. It gave me a glimpse into the future when "the guys" (future tense "boys + dad") will do serious fishing trips up in the mountains and big rivers, most of which I don't plan on partaking of. I envy my future self just thinking about all the me-time that's coming my way! Reading books, hobbies, shopping, gardening, baking, peace and quiet. I will be in domestic delight!

Phil found a good spot to take the boys on Sauvie Island
Eli and his brothers got right to snacking as dad got their fishing poles ready
Eli
Cars themed poles seemed to fit the bill just right with these boys : )
Maybe it was their non-stop eating but Phil and I marveled at how well behaved and calm the boys seemed. Its happening before my eyes and can't believe it but they seem to be leaving their animalistic tendencies behind them and maturing into civilized human beings after-all. I was told it would happen but deep down inside it was hard to really believe, ha!
Eli caught himself a pretty little blue gill!
Caleb marvels at the catch!
Another one!

Looks like they are going to be lovin' the fishing just like their dad. I remember our family getting up early in the morning and going fishing, always enjoyed it and I still like fishing although I haven't bee for many-many years.
Love you all,
A. Nancy
